MANUFACTURED HOME LIVING
. . . or How to Vacation Year Round in Southwest Florida

Aah, Southwest Florida. Land of sun, fun, beaches, easy living . . . and manufactured homes? You might ask yourself, how does one of those fit into this scenario?

WELL, PICTURE THIS . . .

A community of neatly kept homes full of folks just like yourself. Year round warm weather where you can walk, bicycle and swim almost every day. You like golf? Well, there are plenty of communities with their own golf course. Just fire up your golf cart and get going.

For you social butterflies, during season most communities host a number of dances, shows and potluck dinners to keep you involved with your friends and neighbors.

Alone? Not for long. There are so many ways to meet people and make friends. Do you play cards or enjoy ceramics? Maybe line dancing is your thing. Well, join up. You won't be alone for long! Why, there may even be a singles club where members take trips together and enjoy friendly dinners and evenings out. Who knows, you might even meet "THE ONE!"

And what could be an easier life than retiring to one of many Southwest Florida manufactured home communities? For one thing low upkeep - many communities provide grounds maintenance including lawn mowing. If your park does not, there are always folks within the community who have a lawn services business. If you don't like doing it yourself, hire one of them. If you love doing your own gardening, then by all means, go to it!

Now don't go thinking that, nice as this all sounds, you would NEVER retire to a trailer park, NO WAY! Well, manufactured homes and communities have come a long way, baby! We're talking double and triple wides with sizes that can exceed 2000 square feet in area. Of course, if you prefer a single wide there are plenty of them around and they, too, have greatly improved. Certainly nothing like your grandmother's old mobile home. For your info, they stopped building mobile homes back around 1976.

If you already live in a manufactured home community, you know what I'm talking about. If not, why not take a drive around and stop at some of these parks. Look at homes for sale. Ask plenty of questions - don't be shy. Check out the amenities and see which community fits your lifestyle.

We did, and we're glad we did. My husband Bill and I are now living in our second manufactured home since we moved to Florida several years ago. So check out my site and see what you think.

Then. . .

Some day when you're relaxing on your lanai, cocktail in hand, after a long day of golf, swimming or just exploring all that Southwest Florida has to offer, you'll be glad you adopted the SWFL Manufactured Home Lifestyle!
